Policy Analyst Internship Description 

Creosote Partners is Arizona’s only progressive lobbying and government relations firm that is committed to representing clients whose values align with our own.  Individuals working with Creosote Partners will intern for a professional team of lobbyists in a remote office environment, with potential visits to the Arizona State Capitol. Internship duties are completed under the supervision of Creosote Staff. This position is paid via a biweekly stipend of $360.50, for a total of $721 a month.  Benefits include an additional monthly phone and internet stipend of $150 plus access to our company telehealth program HealthiestYou which provides access to doctors and specialists at no up-front cost. The position begins in January of 2024 and concludes in May of 2024 at a maximum of 10 hours per week.

Duties may include:

• Research, monitor, and track legislation and political activity relevant to Creosote clients 

• Attend legislative and administrative hearings, either virtually or in person, to monitor activity relevant to Creosote clients 

• Take notes during legislative and administrative hearings to report back to Creosote staff 

• Assist with the planning, execution, and evaluation of “Days at the Capitol” for Creosote clients 

• Assist in preparing communications to Creosote clients about relevant news from the Capitol 

• Attend special meetings of coalitions and stakeholders related to the work of Creosote clients 

• Identify and execute a special legislative project to be approved by Creosote staff

• Create at least one memo on amendment language

• Assist with research and creating fact sheets for legislation

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of social media communication
